Join us in May as we “Step Out Wi Staggies” and better our mental and physical health by stepping out into the great outdoors.
“Step Out Wi Staggies” is our step count challenge for the month of May where we encourage individuals, friends, families and teams to get into the great outdoors walking and counting up 15,000 steps a day. Walking has proven key links to bettering Mental & Physical Health and we believe, given the easing of lockdown restrictions it can be a good time to follow the guidelines and meet with friends & families outdoors to re-connect after what has been an extremely tough 13 months.
How does it work?
Register as an individual, a team of 4 or a team of up to 10 people at our online shop. Follow the “Step out wi Staggies” Group page on Facebook and use the hashtag #StepOutWiStaggies on Facebook, Twitter & Instagram when posting screenshots of step counters, images of where you are walking or photos with your groups during your walk.
We also ask those who are taking part to try and raise vital sponsorship for our Youth & Community Departments and there will also be a participation fee on application- £25 per individual, £50 for a team of 4 and £100 for a team of up to 10 people. These funds will go straight in to supporting the RCFC Youth & Community departments. Each registered participant will receive a unique “StepOutWiStaggies” medal at the end of May.
We will continue to support participants throughout the month by posting tips, ideas and walking routes to help you reach those targets.
There will also be a prize for the Best Image supplied by our steppers across May so make sure to get lots of snaps when you are out and always post them using #StepOutWiStaggies.
